Gatherings

We are re-evaluating this writer's group and whether or not it meets the need of women writers. Until then, all gatherings are on hold. Stay tuned for updates! Thank you for your patience. Your feedback would be helpful in making this decision.

Chase It Down...

Have you ever said this to yourself, "I need a whole weekend by alone in order to really write."

Really write, what does that mean exactly? If we write every other day for for a few minutes, that doesn't count as real writing? Can you consider that any time you write it is REAL writing? (Is there such thing as fake writing?)

Maybe it's not real writing because it's not profound or perfect. Think about that for a long minute...

Any writing is real writing.

It does not need to be flawless. It doesn't have to be all tidy and complete either. Writing is the art that blossoms from your life experiences. Is your life flawless? How about tidy and complete? Neither is mine. So release the pressure to create amazing award winning pieces of work. Instead just write.

Spend a few minutes on the page. Don't worry about perfection or about finishing it. Write because you love it. Write because you are a storyteller. Write because you have a voice and have important things to say. Write because you were created to create. Don't attempt to do it perfectly. Perfection steals your voice. If an idea passes through your mind - chase it down. See where it takes you.

Now that is real writing. And you are a real writer. How about that? :0)
